Join us for a quilt making crafts, demonstrations, stories and games! There is fun to be had for families of all ages. Free with regular Museum admission. 6 Wednesday 10:30 - 11:30 am Hooked on History - Fantastic Fabrics: Celebrate our temporary exhibit, Crazy Quilts, at this fun-filled event. 8 Friday 11:30 - 12 pm Books Bring History Alive - A fun summer program catering to children aged 2 to 5 9 Saturday 9 am - 3 pm Workshop - Yarn Dyeing with Native Plants. Participants will collect Native plants of our Northwest Coast region, then process the plants into dye, which will be used to dye wool. Class Fee: $155 13 Wednesday 10:30 - 11:30 am Hooked on History - Native Traditions: Experience crafts and customs from Coast Salish culture. 15 Friday 11:30 - 12 pm Books Bring History Alive - A fun summer program catering to children aged 2 to 5 16 & 17 Sat - Sun 9 am - 3 pm Workshop - Coast Salish Weaving. Participants will use plant dyed yarns to weave on a Coast Salish table top loom. Local weavers will demonstrate both the twill and twine techniques of Coast Salish Weaving. October - 2008nuary - 2008 11 Saturday 1 - 3 p.m Film & Lecture with Susan Pavel. The 20 minute film will highlight the weaving process, from gathering plant material to weaving. Try your hand at weaving on a Coast Salish loom, weave a greeting card for friends and family, attempt to identify raw weaving materials and have you photo taken in a woven blanket.
